“It’s unfortunate that the first trials have been pushed back,” said Rochelle Rottenstein, principal of the Rottenstein Law Group, “because it puts off the potential recovery for the injured, but if the delay means that the parties will be better prepared to present their cases to the court, then additional time can be a good thing.”

Safely Using the Vaginal Ring

A contraceptive device is as effective as to how the person uses it, most manufacturers explained, pointing out that the chances of becoming pregnant increases with every breach nuvaring lawsuitof procedure. The precise use of vaginal rings dictates the occurrence of future complications, according to health care providers. Though the device is effective, it may become worthless if the woman is not able to use it to its full potential, thus may put the woman at risk of accidentally getting pregnant. The misuse of the ring may as well have been the root of the woman’s anxiety. Thus, many women have their NuvaRing contraceptive cases assessed first before they send it to court.

A doctor’s prescription is needed first before acquiring one. The patient is evaluated first by the gynecologist. Smokers and women over the age of 35 are not good applicants for this type of contraception. Vaginal rings are also not allowed for women with blood pressure problems, blood sugar problems and obesity. Women who do not have such medical condition may be able to get the ring from their gynecologist. The procedure on starting the ring is then explained by the health care provider. The ring would then be inserted by most women during the fifth day of menstruation. However, if the ring is inserted after the fifth day, the woman may need to wait for seven days before intercourse.

The ring stays in place for three weeks after the woman inserts it. After the three weeks have passed, it is removed and the one stays ring-free for a week. When the ring gets out or is expelled during intercourse, the woman should wash it and re-insert it immediately. If more than three hours has passed and the ring is still not re-inserted, then there are two options. Reinsert a new ring on the spot or wait for the one week to pass and insert a new one. Bleeding or spotting is often seen when one reinsert a new ring on the spot while withdrawal bleed may be observed with the other.

Additional contraception may be advised when this happens. Blood pressure is kept in check through routine doctor check-up. If the doctor sees complications that may endanger the life of the patient, they might advise for the discontinuation of its use. Side effects may be found at the NuvaRing Lawsuit Information Center or at the nuvaring-lawsuit.com for those who want to know more.

NuvaRing works in the woman’s vagina for three weeks into its insertion in a month. On the fourth week the ring is taken out and the woman experiences her menstrual period. One may ask is it safe to have contact during the three week period? The answer to that is yes. The manufacturer states that patients who are using it may partake of sexual contact during the three week period. According to Merck, most partners will not feel the ring during sex. However, there is a small chance that the ring will come out. In this event simply wash the ring with water and reinsert.

However, like all medications NuvaRing does have its side effects, among them breast tenderness or enlargement, change in appetite, changes in weight, dizziness, headache, mild hair loss, nausea, nervousness, stomach cramps or bloating, vaginal spotting or breakthrough bleeding.

It is also advised that if a patient is suffering from any of these side effects a doctor be consulted as soon as possible to avoid any of the following harm to befall the patient: severe allergic reactions; absent menstrual period; breast discharge; breast lumps; calfor leg pain, swelling, or tenderness; change in the amount of urine produced; chest pain or heaviness; confusion; coughing of blood; dark urine; fainting; mental or mood changes; migraines; numbness of an arm or leg; one-sided weakness; pale stools; persistent, severe, or recurring headache or dizziness; persistent vaginal spotting; severe pain or tenderness in the stomach.

One of the most dangerous side effects of NuvaRing use is the possibility of blood clots, and strokes. The problem lies in the hormones in it that have can possibly change your blood clotting system, which may allow your blood to clot more easily. If a blood clot forms in your legs, it can travel to the lungs and cause a sudden blockage of a vesselcarrying blood to the lungs. Rarely, clots occur in the blood vessels of the eye and may cause blindness, double vision, or other vision problems. The risk of getting blood clots may be greater with the type of progestin in NuvaRing than with some other progestins in certain low-dose birth control pills. It is unknown if the risk of blood clots is different with NuvaRing use than with the use of certain birth control pills.

While NuvaRing is potentially 98-99.1% effective in preventing unwanted pregnancy, there are certain things you need to look out for. Consult with a doctor if you wish to start using it.

NuvaRing – Good or Bad?

There are several types of birth control procedures available in the market nowadays. Yet one particular type of birth control has taken the interest of many women because of its convenience and uniqueness. This particular birth control method is the NuvaRing vaginal ring contraceptive.

The NuvaRing is a non-pill contraceptive that consists of a plastic ring to be inserted in the vagina for a specific period of time. It is made from a flexible and transparent form of plastic that will be inserted into the vagina for approximately three weeks. On the fourth week or the week wherein a woman’s monthly period is expected, the NuvaRing will be taken out.

One of the major factors that has brought recognition to this non-pill contraceptive is the fact that not a lot of women are comfortable with birth control pills anymore. So, to those ladies who were always insecure about their old birth control method, this unassuming contraceptive is a wish come true. On another note, this contraceptive is not appropriate for all women. Women who are possibly pregnant, smokers and those with a medical history of heart diseases and blood clotting are just some who will be advised not to use NuvaRing. This is in lieu with the side effects known to come from using this certain contraceptive. Blood clotting, heart attacks, high blood strokes, heart disease, gallbladder disease, liver problems and even certain cancers are just a few of the possible complications that a woman may get from using the NuvaRing.

Like most birth control methods, the NuvaRing exudes hormones to prevent a woman from getting pregnant. Not all hormones used as a contraceptive are the same, however.First, second, third and fourth generation hormones are just some of the differentiations between the hormones used for contraceptives. The hormones used in NuvaRing are third generation hormones also known as progestin desogestrel.Yet what is the difference between them all? As based on certain studies and findings of experts on birth control, third and fourth generation hormones are more dangerous than the first and second generation hormones. Moreover, it is because of these certain complications that might lead to serious health problems or even untimely deaths that a lot of health organizations have become wary of NuvaRing.
